This is so true. There is a difference in sitting next to someone because it is right and fully embracing someone who is different. I think of our students with special needs. I can be kind to a student who has special needs, or I can engage them in conversation so that they feel like they are accepted in my crowd or my circle of friends. I would like to see more parents and students who embrace all people into their lives because they truly believe that people are more important the politics or principles or labels.
