Agreed! “But we have to recognize when putting in overtime is actually making a difference—and when we’re doing it out of guilt, worry, or misplaced obligation.” I SO resemble the previous quote! I’m actually (if secretly) glad that my new school, due to installing new security doors, has decreed that teachers must leave campus by 5:30pm at the latest! No more staying late to “get things done” when I need to do a better job of prioritizing my time and schedule instead… How much was I “really” getting done when I stayed late? Honestly, not much, because I kept procrastinating & my “work pile” just grew larger… This new “out by 5:30 at the latest rule” allows me to give myself permission to leave ON TIME! Now, I just need to up my work “prioritizing” game. 😉
